Vintage & Retro Style Logos

We are huge fans of logo design here at Print Express, as you’d expect seeing as how we print so many of them across flyers, leaflets and brochures. And one thing that I really love about logos is just how many different techniques and styles you can use. Today, I wanted to talk about borrowing from the past and creating a retro, vintage style logo design but in the modern era.

Vintage logo designs have a certain quality to them that gives them a very specific identity and personality. It often tends to come across as representing a product or brand that’s quite thoughtfully crafted (and dare I say it, maybe a little hipster). It taps into a slightly nostalgic quality too, which can work really well for some businesses, and at other times stands in stark contrast to how modern the company or product is. For example, one of the logos in this showcase is a retro style logo, but for bitcoin mining – and I think the juxtaposition of the very old and the very new works really well.

To help give you some inspiration around retro style logo designs, I’ve brought together a collection of some of my favourite recent discoveries. I hope these get you thinking creatively and help get some of those rough ideas that you have in your head down into your sketchpad, and as always if you know of any other vintage logos that belong in this post, I’d love to hear about them.
