This time of year is all about posting Christmas cards to friends and loved ones, and it’s this that made me think of our subject for today: stamp design. Stamps are the sorts of things that you see all the time (or at least, you definitely did before emails took over and replaced most stationery) – and the design of stamps can be quite fun to play with and come up with new, creative artwork for. In terms of design, I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for pieces that were done for fun, and that take household or commonplace elements and rework them to be interesting and quirky, and I think that’s why I’m such a fan of these creative stamp designs.
There’s something really interesting about seeing beautifully designed stamps, especially in this era of digital. I think the thing that really appeals to me about redesigning stamps like this is the juxtaposition between the old and new. It’s another reason why I really like retro logo designs.
I’ve put together this roundup of creative, innovative and (in most cases) colourful stamp designs to help inspire you. Each one has been created by an incredibly talented artist, and they’ve taken an amazingly tiny canvas size and done something really fun and creative with it. Hopefully this collection inspires you to try your own hand at stamp design, and as always if you know of any artwork that belongs in this post, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below. For now though, enjoy this roundup of creative stamp design!
So there you have it, our roundup of creative stamp designs. I hope this collection has gotten you thinking about your own design projects and that it’s given you a burst of inspiration that you can apply to your work. As always, if you know of any other stamp designs that deserve a mention, I’d love to hear from you!
