WINTER
Dear Winter, I’ve come to write a poem for you
I’m hoping you’ll read and see it through
There’s a memory in my mind stuck
Every time you come I keep on looking back
That person probably must be doing fine
The one I loved for such a long time
That person was just like you, winter
So like you that it made my heart go shiver
Just as I want you to read and see this through
Will that person ever read this too?
That’s impossible to even know
Because that person is gone long time ago
Been thinking a lot of things I can’t forget
Been thinking through beneath the blanket
I wonder why it’s still cold inside
No matter how I cover myself and hide
I couldn’t come up with any words to say
To say these things in a simple way
Somewhere buried deep inside my heart
I’m longing to see you though we’re worlds apart
So as people come and go, you go
Further enough to let your heart know
Close enough you mean so much to me
But all we are now is just a memory
Just as winter is cold, my heart will grow cold
One day I’ll wake up it’s you I hold
That’s what I’ve been dreaming for so long
But now I’m embracing the past all alone
Broken hearts and feelings unreturned
Forgotten frozen love that once burned
It’s nowhere to be found, all gone now
Every piece of your memories fades somehow
Maybe I’m such a fool to wait and believe
That someday you’ll come back and won’t leave
But if you won’t, please just remember
That I will always love you forever
