Short Story Competition

writng competition

If you're an unpublished author that loves to write short stories, we want to hear from you. If you send us a short story that you've written, you could be in with the chance of having it printed (enough copies for you and a small group of friends that you'd like to share it with).

Some stories deserve to be printed, to be able to be placed on a shelf and picked up and held. We'd like to give your story that chance.

To enter, email your short story in a Word document (or a .txt document, if it's easier) to email@printexpress.co.uk.If you know of any authors who would like to see several copies of their short story printed, get in touch.

Rules

Make sure your story is no longer than 4000 words. Please only send in one story

The deadline is September 30th, 2011

The prize

The winner will have their story published in their own book, they will receive ten copies!

The winner will have their short story published in a 14.8x10.5cm book with a 350gsm card cover.

The author can design their own cover or our in house design team can help.

illustrations inside the book are optional.

To enter email us at email@printexpress.co.uk

This competition is now closed. Due to the high volume of entries, the winner will be announced Friday 7th October 2011 6PM GMT. Please be patient with us whilst we read all your stories. Thank you everyone who entered!

Amin

Dear sir or madam,

I am a BA holder in English Language and Literature from Iran. I am
the co-author of the article" a postmodernist reading of Henrik
Ibsen's Ghosts" which has been accepted by the journal of Canadian
Social Science and is going to be published on August 31.

I have a short story and I am really pleased to enter your contest.
But I have a couple of questions:  If I win the contest, will you send
the 10 copies of my story to Iran?

I was also wondering if you would mind telling me about the exact time
when you will announce the winners of the short story contest?

I would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation

all the best,
Amin Davoodi

I haven't written anything yet, but I know it can be done... I'm only asking, why is all of this so vague? Just send in one of my own short stories and that is all? it doesn't have to be any specific genre or anything?

I was just reading through some of the old comments and it mentioned how someone wanted feedback which you said you would provide them with. Are you doing this will all entries or just Stephanie because she asked especially? I would really appreciate feedback from my work but if it's already too late since I've asked  so late that's fine! I misread your response as everyone receiving feedback but then realise it may have been directed specifically to the commenter, but would certainly appreciate some feedback if possible!
